Media
After graduating in Slavic languages and literature at the universities of Leiden and Prague, I started my career as reporter and foreign desk editor at the Netherlands national news agency (ANP) specializing in Central and Eastern Europe.
Marketing and public relations
At the Ministry of Welfare, Public Health and Cultural Affairs, I was the editor-in-chief of the English language journal Dutch Heights. After being a spokesman for the NCRV (Dutch television and radio) I became co-director of the public relations firm Van Dantzig & Lichtenveldt and its subsidiary Media Consultancy & Training . Within the consultancy firm Burson-Marsteller in Prague and The Hague I built up a marketing practice.

Selection of clients: Unilever, Monsanto, Nestle, Douwe Egberts, Philips, McCain, Colgate Palmolive, Hasbro, Council of Europe, UNFPA, World bank, the Dutch Association of Municipalities, Dutch and foreign ministries.
Digital media
At the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment, I built and managed a new internet section embodying the basis structure for the information to the general public. I worked as communications manager of the Dutch municipality of Zeist at the time of the Lockerbie trial which was held in ‘Camp Zeist’.
Business support
From 2007 to 2017 I worked as sector co-ordinator for Marketing & Communications and Business Support Organizations of PUM Netherlands Senior Experts (volunteer).
